Hair-raising
V was born with a fairly impressive head of hair. Maybe she didn’t have the most hair, but it was reddish blond and curly and definitely got her some attention. Here she is at 6 days old:
And a year, tiptoeing through the tulips:

First day of school four(okay, 3 and 9 months):

While it was ‘nice’ that we didn’t have to do much for her hair between baths, (read: it was impossible to brush once dry) bath time could often be torture. Both for her head and our eardrums. I’m not sure if it’s clear from the pictures above, but until today she’d never had a haircut. Yep, that fine baby hair was still in the mix, helping to turn those curls to dreadlocks as soon as you looked at them. We tried the conditioners. Every one. We tried the combs, the brushes, the comb/brushes.
We’ve brought up the idea of a haircut with her several times before, unfortunately I think she most associates Bill’s transformation with haircut, and she really wasn’t ready to lose all her hair.
Finally today, on a whim we booked a quickie appointment with our stylist and as quick as you’d please she had those ends tidied up.

She was so insanely happy with the results I couldn’t get her to stay still. Luckily she had a skating date this afternoon that helped to wear her out. We couldn’t contain the hair, but we could tire her out *g*

Wow, I can’t imagine not cutting the hair for that long! Way to go! I was in a rush to cut my V’s hair, and while I know he’s a boy, for me it was just the mess and the way it gets in his eyes- that alone caused me enough headache. Whew. Her hair is so beautiful!
Ah yes, the advantage of barrettes and bobs in the hair *g*
She’s very cute. I’m sure she’s even cuter from the other side, where she doesn’t look like Cousin Itt
Heh, thanks Rick. Although occassionally she’ll use her sunglasses to do a Cousin Itt impression *g*
Her hair really is gorgeous. Stunning! I’m envious. What conditioner DO you use?
We’ve found our miracle conditioner, it’s AG Hair Fast Food. I’m still looking for a deep conditioner, but I love this stuff, we can just add it in mid-week and give the rat’s nest a bit of a brush *g*
She’s got beautiful hair. Such a cutie pie.
