That moment

July 12, 2010

I experienced that moment yesterday.

I looked at V and she wasn’t my baby any more, she’s my little girl. I blinked and she’s over two and a half years old.

(She’s determined and sassy and stubborn. She’s sensitive and playful and loves to laugh. She’s easily hurt and she wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s painfully shy around strangers. She’s an imp and will run off given half a chance. She has the best giggle in the world.)

Yes, I teared up. She looked up and asked, ‘Mommy, what’s wrong?’ and that didn’t help matters at all. Nor did her getting up and coming over to give me a big hug and tell me it’s all right.
