I didn’t do it!
And this time I have an alibi.
My employer has quite a few offices in this city. My group works out of 5 buildings. I usually work in either building 2 or building 4 and one day a week at home (amen for jamma days!). Yesterday I was supposed to work at building 2 and, in my most bleary state, I managed to make it to the correct building (hey, it doesn’t always work out that way.) I trudged up to my desk and was greeted with the news that everyone in building 4 had been sent home thanks to a burst sprinkler line in the lobby. I thought about it and thought about it, but could not come up with a plausible way that the other building’s sprinkler leak would force me to work from home.
So I stayed.
Aaaand, I discovered just how small Ottawa was. While perusing Twitter toiling away, I heard about a car fire in a local office parking lot. Not a 1/2 hour later my co-workers were discussing the multi-car fire at building 3!
Note: I am still at building 2 at this point. I had not visited either of these sites, so while I may be able to bring down the entire network by updating my OS, I have witnesses to my non-involvement with these events.
Here’s the car fire, because we all know if it’s not on video it didn’t happen:
