Ah, vacation.
I’m joining Capital Mom to share my Monday Moment. Check out her blog for other Monday Moments and to join in on the fun!
Two weeks ago hubby and I started our vacation. We didn’t have many plans as we knew we’d spend a lot of time on the house. As the days ticked by we started to get busier and busier. Hookey days with V, sightseeing, anniversaries, movies, The Lion King, family dinners, sleepovers for V, house guests for us, a backyard campout and a trip to the farmer’s market – that was just the last 4 days; piled on top of each other and mingled in with the boxes (oh the boxes, where did we have all this crap in our little house?), the gardening, the shopping for those missing bits.
Days full of busy and fun. And tired, and answering to ‘Mom?’ a thousand times, of cooking and entertaining and being ‘on’, and very little internet, or time to myself, or really relaxing.
Today I found myself on the first day of my third week of vacation. The house was quiet. Plans were ignored, (the shower was also ignored), internet perused and I breathed. The week stretches out in front of me and I can see if filled with things I have to do, things I want to do, stuff I want to accomplish, but for now I am just alone.
That time to be alone, to breathe, is so needed to be able to make it through the rest of the stuff! I hope you enjoyed your time alone.
Sounds like a great Monday. Of course I’m still on the packing & panic end of the move 😉
Heya…I couldn’t find an email address for you on this site. Shoot me an email and I’ll respond with an invite to the food/drink blog. Babyburke at aol dot com. Cheers!
AAAhhh. Breathing. Just reading your post reminded me to take a deep one. Thanks for the reminder 🙂
