Conversations with V – A year ago and yesterday

I recorded these in  July ’10 but never published them:

Last week we were in the store, V in the grocery cart, when she looked at the empty seat beside her and asked ‘where’s my sister?’

<They’re in my heart baby, they’re in my heart>

This morning she woke up, sprang to all fours, looked around in a panic and asked ‘where’s my brother and sister?’

<Honey, do I have some bad news for you.>

A year later and she still tells me she wants a brother and a sister. And I still tell her that’s what I want too more than anything too…
