SOC Sunday – Groove

February 3, 2013

Today’s (totally) optional prompt: Groove? In it or out of it?

I guess a groove would be a kinder interpretation, but what I’m in I think is more accurately described as a rut. I finally decided to bust out on Friday, and started blogging again, but before that I just couldn’t get in to it. There are things going on now that I just don’t have the time or energy (or permission) to write about, so of course that’s all I think about when I sit down to write. So sure my posts might be content light over the next little while (like they were weighty before) but I’m just going to do it, I’m bustin’ myself out of this rut, so I can get into a groove. And really what’s the difference there? How come one’s so easy, life’s a breeze, and the other is such a slog? Is it just attitude? Will the way I approach the rut turn it in to my groove?

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…
Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post (in the sidebar).
Link up your post here.
Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

I’m busting out of my rut – reading- and writing-wise, and this is a common theme. I think we were all just hibernating. Perils of the Ottawa blogging scene 🙂

C'mon, tell me what you think. You know you want to!
