730 in 365

This is a fun one, and a bit hard for me to accomplish. The idea is to purge, give away, sell, donate, or throw out 2 items every day for a year (or the equivalent that will get you to 730 items total.)

I’ll be keeping track here and mainly using freecycle to accomplish my goals. One of the biggest downfalls to using freecycle is that there is just so much good stuff offered, I’ll have to resist the temptation to bring 1460 new things in!

My first attempt was a horrible failure, mostly from lack of bookkeeping, but with a touch of hoarder thrown in. I’m drawing a line under it all, and restarting the counter at May 5th:

May 6 – 4 pr kids shoes, 3 bras, 30 people magazines, an ADSL modem, 4 dress up costumes, stack of mis-matched envelopes, brown leather boots = 44 items

Aug – 20 sewing patterns, 1 toolbelt, 1 cookie tin = 22 items

Sept/Oct – 3 halloween craft kits, 11 scarecrow stakes, 2 swiffer handles, 1 skirt, books (3), splash pants = 21 items

Nov – 3 nailpolish, 20+ samples, 8 dresses, 1 windbreaker, 1 pair of splash pants, iPhone case, rims and tires = 16

Nov 25 – dress, pr of shoes = 2 items

Nov 28 – 14 receiving blankets, 3 bassinet sheets, 15 knitting patterns, 6 wool sweaters, 2 onesie extenders = 40 items

Nov 30 – dog bed, runner, 4 floor mats, entry mat, snow suit, 25 VHS tapes = 33 items

Dec 2 – 2 dresses = 2 items

Dec 3 – 2 lampshades, 1 lamp = 3 items

Dec, Christmas – 2 dresses, 1 turkey = 3 items

Dec 28 – 4 toques, 3 Sens hats, 5 pr kids mitts, 2 kids hats, bag full of milk bags, 10 reusable bags, duffle bag, Team Canada track suit, pink jacket, running room beanie, car seat, Barbie 4-wheeler, sz12 runners, 3 pr pants, 2 teeshirts, goodmama diaper = 38 items

Dec 30 – snow suit, 15 ornaments, nativity scene, kid snowpants, 3 stocking holders, 7 kazoos, 14 ornaments, 3 finger towels, paint tray, roller, edger, baptism frame, 31 peel and stick tiles, potty seat, change pad = 52 items

Jan 4 – boots, 3 crossstitch mags, stroller
